Deffenbaugh Industries, a subsidiary of Waste Management has a Special Use Permit to operate a landfill in the City.
On September 11, 2017, the City Council approved extending the Special Use Permit for the landfill for one year noting that Deffenbaugh had undertaken numerous measures to control odors. Links to the study results and other information related to odor control measures can be found below.
The motion included a provision requiring Deffenbaugh officials to provide an update to the Governing Body in six months or in March 2018.
